Now you are ready to start that all important wedding planning, I am sure both and you fiancée are keen to know how to involve your family in your destination wedding and make them feel included in your big day!
Involve your family in your Dress fittings
Why not ask your mom and your future mother in law to join you as your choose your all-important wedding dress and to attend the subsequent dress fittings. They will feel honored that you have asked them to be part of this special occasion and will be thrilled to help you choose your prefect dress! Why not make a day of it? Splurging out on a lovely lunch, will not only give you all time to bond, but will undoubtedly be making memories that will last a life time.
Menu tasting
Surely one of the most important part of planning your destination wedding- the menu tasting! Why not involve your family in your destination wedding by asking your parent´s and your in laws if they would like to join you for the menu tasting! Your families will love the process of helping you choose your wedding day menu and it will help put their mind at rest about the quality of food for the wedding guests.
Another bonus is your family members to get to know the wedding vendors who will be there on your wedding day, including your wedding planner, photographer, videographer, caterer etc and of course see the beautiful venue you have chosen. This is extremely useful for both vendors and your parents who will be glad to put faces to names prior to the big day making everyone feel relaxed!
Involving family in your decision making
Having something to look forward to, especially with the current climate, will be appreciated by all your family members. Involve your family in your destination wedding by sharing virtual venue tours with them, your chosen stationary, the flowers etc. By keeping them in the loop with regards to your wedding, allows them to feel involved in wedding planning and decision making and to ask any questions they may have. Trust us, this will reduce the stress in the run-up to the wedding day as your families will feel like they have been involved in the planning and will just be as excited as you both in the run-up to the wedding day!
Music
Why not ask you family to help you decide the music for key moments of the wedding that they are involved in such as the father-daughter dance, mother-son and dance and why not even have a family dance song? Your parents and in-laws will love working with you and your fiancée to find the perfect choice of music for your wedding!
Finally, with any wedding, whether it be a local wedding or a destination wedding, planning can be stressful. We find the best advice would be to speak to your family and let them help where possible. The last thing they want you to feel in the run up to your wedding day is stressed! In addition, honesty is the best policy, so if a family member is causing issues during the planning stages be as honest as possible without upsetting anyone. Compromise is key in these situations and everyone can agree, that seeing you and your fiancée happily married, is the main goal for all parties. Happy wedding planning!
