Being a Barcelona-based Wedding Planner, it is always a pleasure to work at one of Spain´s top wedding venues – Castell de Sant Marçal. When our London based couple chose this majestic venue for their wedding day, we couldn´t have been more thrilled! S&S, from the beginning of their wedding planning journey, had clear ideas about what they wanted from their Destination Wedding in Barcelona. Their objective was to bring their close family and friends to the city (nearly 200 of them!) to celebrate their Romantic Wedding at Castell de Sant Marçal.

Wedding Venue – Castell de Sant Marçal
Like many couples, finding the perfect venue was top of their priority list and when they discovered Castell de Sant Marçal, they knew it was the one! This stunning historic castle, just 25 minutes from the centre of Barcelona, provided the fairy-tale backdrop for their romantic destination wedding.

The castle boasts dreamy, manicured gardens with the most stunning water feature, making it the perfect backdrop to celebrate an unforgettable, symbolic ceremony. Having a close friend of the couple officiate the ceremony, made it even more personal and memorable for the bride and groom, as well as their guests. After this unique ceremony, the guests moved to a different section of the vast gardens to celebrate with a glass of chilled Moët and some delicious nibbles which we will discuss in further detail later on!

The dinner was celebrated in front of the castle, with the most beautiful of backdrops before this fun-loving group moved inside to start the all-important party!

Decoration
To complement their romantic wedding at Castell de Sant Marçal, together with Barcelona based florist – La Floreria, we worked with a gorgeous palette of soft dusty pink, white and cream. A beautiful arch of greenery, filled with lush florals, framed the area for the ceremony and was moved to behind the sweetheart table for the reception! This sweetheart table was the focal point of the decoration for the reception, with cascading flowers and surrounded by candles – It was so romantic!

Catering
In the hands of Catering Sensacions, the catering was always going to be a resounding success! From the delicious bitesize nibbles for the cocktail hour to the tasty three course meal – everyone agreed that the food, and the catering staff, were fantastic!

Wedding dress
The bride wore a gorgeous Pronovias dress which was the perfect fit for a wedding at a majestic castle! Everyone agreed that she made a radiant bride!

Hair & Makeup
Ch. Bridal a renowned Barcelona- based international hair and make-up artist, styled the bride´s hair in soft curls for the ceremony with muted tones of make-up. After the cocktail hour, the bride wanted a change of look, so with a red lip and a hairstyle change to Hollywood curls, the bride was ready to start the dinner and, of course, the party!

Party!
At the party, we started off with traditional Flamenco performances which got the guests excited for the party to come! After the performance, the DJ played some traditional Kurdish songs, in recognition of their Kurdish heritage, to get everyone on the dance floor and the group partied into the night to celebrate the fantastic wedding of this wonderful couple!
